You should also try drawing with charcoal (if that's what they call it in English) The precision is quite different and the detail quality is reduced. That way you learn how to give the line fluidity and its own form, giving the piece a less "scientific" approach and a more artistic one.
I'd post some of the artwork we've been working on, But they're all A3 papers
I'll find something small to scan.
Still think pencil is cool though. I prefer mech.s although pencils can change in thickness with ease
i actually have before a lot of times. I love doing it when i'm not really in the mood to draw- oil and chalk pastels too. but i find all of those get really messy, so i dont do it often.
oh pleasee. i'd love to see some of your art~
mechanical pencils? i've only drawn with them a few times but i must press too hard; i always break the lead D:

if its a 0,7mm it seems kinda hard to do that
Most of my posted art were made with 0,5mm mechs, while detailed ones like Kryuss use 0,3 mechs, and 0,1/0,05mm India ink <-- having a hard time translating the materials
Good part about drawing with pencils is that you can always create different strokes depending on the pencils tip form. And you can also choose between diff. types.
I often use 2H pencils for the base sketch, HB for the basic forms, and 2B for the details and shadow.
I'm still searching for some small drawings that can fit through a scanner! There should be some during the beginning of the semester.
There's a fixating spray you can buy at any art store that's ideal for chalk and pastels. It's the best way to keep the good drawings from easily getting smudged.
you're doing a fine job translating them. haha. i use dots instead of commas for those, but that might just be a canadian thing (?) (for example '0.l7mm' lead)
mmhmm, there are so many different types of pencils that all do different things. i suppose that the same can be said about paints- but... for drawing anyway, pencils will always have a special place in my heart.
last year i used a spray for chalk pastel- and had an allergic reaction to something about it (I even sprayed it outside.. and none reaaaly got on me... *shrugs*) haha- but i might try to find one i can use XD

Pencils For the win always! I'm a mech. lover though
I was thinking in lending a spare mech., but now I've changed my mind
In Brazil, and most Latin America, we use commas for decimal stuff, like 0,25mm and use Dots for stuff like 2.000. Kinda like the opposite of the people there right? Does Canada use inches, feet & Fahrenheit also?
